MINIMALIST SKINCARE ROUTINE
Looking for a minimalist skincare routine that will help nourish your sensitive skin? Try this easy and affordable three-step skincare routine featuring my favourite Cetaphil and Thayer’s products. They’re designed for sensitive skin and the best deals when you purchase them at Costco and Amazon. I’ve been doing this minimalist routine for years and highly recommend you trying it out.
Minimalist Skincare Routine For Sensitive Skin
When looking for skincare products it’s important to test one product at a time. Also, sensitive skin needs a little extra care. You’ll need to make sure you don’t skip any steps. Sometimes it might seem like a good idea to try several products at a time. However, when it comes to sensitive skin, it’s best to test one product at a time so you can easily pinpoint what works and what doesn’t.
How to Test New Products
Try testing a small area and waiting a few minutes to see if any irritation occurs. Then, you can test that same product on your entire face. Make sure to follow the directions on the container and keep an eye out for irritations that might occur after a few days of trying a new product.
“As someone who has extremely sensitive skin, I’ve learned to become brand loyal with my skincare products. I know that Cetaphil and Thayer’s works extremely well to cleanse, hydrate and heal my sensitive skin.” – Dee
Finding Affordable Products That Work
When it comes to my face, there’s zero room for error and I like to keep things simple and stick to the brands I know works well for me. It’s also important for me to find products that are affordable and available in my favourite places to buy skincare products.
These are the products I use for my three-step daily skincare routine.
- Cetaphil’s Extra Gentle Daily Scrub
- Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel
- Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
Costco has the Cetaphil products available in the warehouse for the best deal. The cleanser comes in a 3-pack and the moisturizer comes in a 2-pack. The best deal on Thayer’s Witch Hazel is on Amazon.
1. Cetaphil’s Gentle Daily Scrub
This scrub works to cleanse and gently exfoliate sensitive skin. It has a clean light scent and suds up when applied properly to damp skin. I recommend using this once a day but not more than that. The gentle exfoliation can become too much exfoliation for one day when used multiple times in a day. Also, one tube of this scrub will last months and can also be used to remove traces of makeup left on the skin.
If you’re looking for deeper exfoliation, try scrubbing with a little more pressure and a little more product. If you’re looking for gentle exfoliation, scrub lightly with a nickel size amount of product.
2. Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel
This toner and witch hazel is absolutely amazing on the skin and includes rosewater. It works to heal, cleanse and hydrate your skin by simply applying with a cotton ball or cotton pad. Once applied, give yourself a minute or two to let the product soak into the skin and do its magic. If you’re suffering from acne or scarring, it works well to reduce redness and sooth irritated skin as well.
3. Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
This moisturizer has been my go-to moisturizer for over 10 years. I love that it’s lightweight and doesn’t leave a white cast. It works really well to instantly hydrate the skin and also provides light sun protection with SPF 15. My entire family uses this moisturizer and it works well on my kid’s skin as well.
I really appreciate how well this moisturizer works under makeup.
My Three-Step Minimalist Skincare Routine
My skincare routine is as easy as they come. In three simple steps, we are going to cleanse, tone and moisturize to achieve healthy and nourished skin.
Step 1: Cleanse with Cetaphil’s Gentle Daily Scrub
- The first step in any skincare routine should start with clean skin. This cleanser is perfect for those that like to keep things simple with one product that does multiple things (cleanse + exfoliate)
Step 2: Tone with Thayer’s Witch Hazel
- The second step is to tone once your face is clean. Toning will help give a deeper clean, heal scarred skin and also add hydration to dry skin. This really helps to balance your skin and prepare it for all day hydration.
Step 3: Moisturize with Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
- The third step is to end with hydration. After cleansing and toning, you must hydrate to seal in all the moisture. This step also helps prep your skin for sun protection which will help keep your skin looking youthful and reduce sunspots on your face.
I’ve been enjoying my simple skincare routine for over ten years and don’t plan on switching things up anytime soon. When you find a routine that works, it makes sense to stick to it. If you’ve ever thought “Dee has such great skin” and wondered what products I use to achieve healthy skin, try my simple routine and let me know if you’re enjoying any of the products I mentioned in this post.
