Dee’s Homemade Pancake Recipe
There’s a few things in life I know with certainty that I do better than anyone else. Today I’m going to share one of them with you and that’s my homemade pancake recipe. Without a doubt, these are going to be the easiest, healthiest and most delicious pancakes your family is going to love.
How to make THICK & FLUFFY pancakes from scratch
The secret to a fluffy pancakes is love and patience as you’ll want to allow time for your batter to thicken before you toss it in the pan. I started making homemade pancakes for my daughters since they were old enough to eat solids regularly and they will tell you that there’s no better pancake than mom’s pancakes. For reference, my oldest is 9 years old. It’s their favourite for a reason!
Honestly, they’re just so good it almost tastes like you’re having cake for breakfast or brunch. Here’s what you’ll need..

Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 tsp of sugar
- 1 pinch of pink salt (any salt works fine)
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 cup of milk (I use 2% milk)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp of vanilla
Instructions
- add all your dry ingredients in a bowl
- mix them together
- add all your wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients
- mix them together until no large clumps are left in the batter
- let the batter rest for 5 minutes (you’ll notice air bubbles start to form in the batter which is a good sign your pancakes will be thick & fluffy)
- heat a nonstick pan on low heat
- use a measuring scoop to add the batter to the pan
- when bubbles start to form in the pan flip the pancakes with a silicone spatula (they cook on each side for 1-2 minutes and will be golden brown)
- repeat the process until the batter is done (this will make 6-7 medium sized pancakes with these measurements)
- serve the pancakes with maple syrup and butter with fresh fruit on the side
- ENJOY!
