Dee’s Banana Bread Recipe

If you’re looking for a fool-proof banana bread recipe that isn’t overly sweet then you’ll definitely want to try this recipe. Say hello to shelf cooking at it’s finest. This is guaranteed to make your entire home smell like a bakery.

One thing that never goes bad in my house is an over ripe banana. I sometimes freeze them to add in smoothies or use them to make baked goods. It’s time we turn those over ripe bananas in your kitchen into the best banana bread.

How to make the BEST organic banana bread

There’s a couple things you’ll want to keep in mind when making this recipe.

  1. If you’re ever unsure of whether to use two bananas or three, always choose three.
  2. The base is golden but what you add is what’ll make it your own.

Ingredients

Here’s a simple list of everything you’ll need. Feel free to use comparable items that you already have on hand in your kitchen. My recipe has organic ingredients but you can use whatever you like. If you’re egg-free, substitute the egg with 1/4 cup of applesauce.

  • 2-3 medium-sized ripe organic bananas
  • 1/3 cup salted grass-fed butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1 large organic egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups organic all purpose flour
  • handful of chopped walnuts (optional)
  • handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • drizzle of honey (optional)
  • avocado oil spray
  • hemp hearts (optional)

Instructions

Today I made a fun spin to my O.G. banana bread recipe and created a banana nut bread that’s out of this world amazing. Follow these steps to make it and grab some walnuts for that extra crunch.

  1. preheat your oven to 350
  2. mash your bananas in a medium sized bowl
  3. add your melted butter to the bananas
  4. then add your vanilla
  5. scramble in your egg or applesauce
  6. add the sugar, baking soda and flour to the mixture
  7. fold in your chocolate chips and/or walnuts (optional step)
  8. drizzle honey over the top
  9. sprinkle hemp hearts in a straight line (optional step)
  10. grab your baking dish and spray with oil
  11. fill your baking dish with the mixture
  12. place in your oven on middle rack uncovered for 1 hour and 10 minutes
  13. carefully remove from oven and poke with a butter knife to check for doneness
  14. place on a heat safe surface to cool for 1 hour before slicing
  15. slice while warm and spread some butter on it
  16. enjoy

BONUS Banana Muffin Recipe

steIf you’re short on time and prefer muffins over bread, you can turn this banana bread recipe into the most perfect muffins. The only thing that changes when you’re making muffins is the time and the tool.

To make these muffins, bake them at 350 for 30 minutes. I recommend using silicone liners because you’ll never have a huge mess to clean up after. Not to mention, muffins that stick to the baking pan are the worst and such a waste. This ensures that you get to enjoy every single bite! By the way, the cooling time for the muffins is just 30 minutes before you get to enjoy them.

Thank me later! You’re going to make this recipe at least twice a month now. Watch the taste-test here!
